Premio Parker 2009

Rascioni E Cecconello Rotulaia

Rating: 87
Maturazione: 2010-2012

The 2009 Ciliegiolo Rotulaia is a pretty red ideal for drinking over the next year or two. Juicy cherries and flowers flow effortlessly through to the soft, caressing finish. The Rotulaia is aged in cement tanks, an approach that works beautifully here. Anticipated maturity: 2010-2012.

Premio Parker 2007

Rascioni E Cecconello Poggio Ciliegio

Rating: 91
Maturazione: 2010-2017

The 2007 Poggio Ciliegiolo flows from the glass with a rather dark expression of this under appreciated Tuscan grape. With time in the glass, the wine finds its center and the inner perfume begins to gradually emerge. The tannins remain elegant and polished from start to finish. There is a slight element of overripeness that comes through from time to time, but not to a great enough degree to detract from the wine’s terrific overall balance.
Maturazione anticipata: 2010-2017.

Rascioni E Cecconello Ciliegiolo Rotulaia

Rating: 87
Maturazione: 2010-2012

The 2006 Ciliegiolo Poggio Ciliegio is an intense, full-bodied wine bursting with wild cherries, smoke, grilled herbs and earthiness. This powerful, authoritative wine possesses excellent balance and terrific overall poise. The warmth of Maremma comes through on the long, expansive finish, where final notes of sweetness linger on the close.

on Poggio Ciliegio 2003 Rascioni e Cecconello is a new company to me. I was captivated by their cherry Poggio 2003. This ciliegiolo, super ripe has matured 10 months in French wood. It is a balanced wine, with lots of red fruits, herbs, tobacco, spices and perfumes of the earth.

A generous wine, of medium build, has an excellent durability and a ton of character, which I will not tire 'never say of red wines from Tuscany. I assume it is not a surprise that 'winemaker Attilio Pagli is the' man behind this gem. School 'Expected :2008-2013. There are no known U.S. importers ..
